Up the oak stair at the end of the barn, under rafters that have held the roof since 1640. Six bunks for the friends who don't plan to sleep much.
The hayloft runs the length of the barn's west end: six built-in bunks with curtains and reading lights, a shower room with two showers, and a gable window looking down the lawn to the mere. It is thirty steps from the dance floor, so nobody has to find a taxi.

The bunks
The bunks
Six bunks in three oak bunk beds, one in each bay between the trusses. Each has its own curtain, a reading light, a shelf and a hook for tomorrow's outfit.
The floor is heated and the walls are thick, so the music downstairs arrives as a hum.
